Dan Evans dumped out of Wimbledon

Dan Evans is the latest Brit to crash out of Wimbledon after losing in four sets to Quentin Halys.

The Brit had been woeful on Monday, going down 6-2, 6-3 before bad light suspended play. Evans eventually got back out on court on Tuesday evening as his game resumed on Centre Court following Aryna Sabalenka’s first-round win.

Despite the mountain that faced him, Evans came out fighting in the third set and put in a spirited effort to claim the third set in a tie-breaker as he threatened to pull off the unthinkable.

But Evans eventually conceded defeat in the fourth, losing 6-2, 6-3, 6-7, 6-4. The 33-year-old is the fourth Brit to crash out in the first round after Harriet Dart, Katie Swan and Ryan Peniston.
