Carlos Alcaraz vs Matteo Berrettini live as Wimbledon top seed warned of danger
Carlos Alcaraz will face Matteo Berrettini in an exciting Wimbledon fourth-round clash on Monday night. The top seed is looking to reach the quarter-final here for the first time but he has a tough challenge in Berrettini – the runner-up in 2021. The Italian has been sidelined by an abdomen injury for several months but has suddenly found his form at one of his favourite tournaments.
Berrettini hasn’t played at Wimbledon since his run to the final two years ago as he tested positive for Covid on the eve of the tournament in 2022. But his latest victim Alexander Zverev believes he is capable of beating anyone and winning the title in a stark warning to world No 1 Alcaraz.
“I told him that he can win the tournament if he plays like this. In my opinion,” the 19th seed said after losing to the world No 38 in straight sets. “I mean, of course there is other players that are great. He’s playing Alcaraz next. I think he’s a great player as well. But if he plays like this, to be honest, he has chances against anybody.”

Alcaraz and Berrettini have walked onto Centre Court for their fourth-round match.
The top seed is hoping to break new ground at Wimbledon by reaching the quarter-final for the first time but he has tough opponent in the 2021 finalist.
Good afternoon
Carlos Alcaraz and Matteo Berrettini are expected to be on court soon, with Ons Jabeur flying against Petra Kvitova.
It’s been a quick day on Centre Court, which started with a heartbreaking retirement for Beatriz Haddad Maia after she injured her back while facing Elena Rybakina and stopped playing at 1-4 down.
Novak Djokovic and Hubert Hurkacz were then back out to resume last night’s match after it was suspended for curfew. With the world No 2 already two sets up, Hurkscz stole the third before Djokovic won in four.
And Jabeur looks on her way to a routine victory too.
