Australian Open free live stream: How to watch Nadal, Djokovic, Williams and co for free
Australian Open: Five things to watch
The Australian Open begins in Melbourne on February 8 and runs until February 21. Upon arrival in Australia, players had to complete a mandatory 14-day isolation period. Novak Djokovic returns to defend his men’s title, with Sofia Kenin defending her crown in the women’s tournament.
Rafael Nadal will also be in action as he chases his 21st Grand Slam, a feat that would see him overtake Roger Federer in the all-time list.
Serena Williams, who will turn 40 this year, still has her eye on a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam singles title.
A reduced crowd of 30,000 will be permitted for the first eight days of the tournament, split equally between day and night sessions.
This will then be cut down to 25,000 from the quarter-final stage, half the average attendance of previous years.

Victorian Minister for Sport Martin Pakula said: “Over the 14 days, it means we will have up to 390,000 people here at Melbourne Park, about 50% of the average over the past few years.
“Rod Laver Arena will have incredible atmosphere, not that different to the atmosphere we’ve seen at all the Opens in the years past.
“It will not be the same… but it will be the most significant international event with crowds that the world has seen in many, many months.”
