ATP rankings are the official world rankings for male tennis players, and are used for determining qualification for the sport’s most prestigious tournaments. Novak Djokovic has remained as the world No 1 for 338 weeks, but faces losing his spot this month to Daniil Medvedev.
The charts are updated every Monday morning, adding on points for matches won or tournament wins.
Naturally, the biggest moves tend to happen after a Grand Slam finishes, as they’re worth the most points.
But there’s still plenty of opportunities to move up the leaderboards by competing in ATP 250 or ATP 500 competitions.
After last week’s Argentina Open came to a close, there were quite a few movers in the Top 20.

Diego Schwartzman moved up to 14th in the ATP rankings this week, after reaching the final of the Argentina Open.
He was beaten 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 by Norwegian Casper Rudd on Sunday, who maintained his place in eighth.
Elsewhere, 24-year-old Reilly Opelka won the inaugural Dallas Open last week, meaning he moved into the Top 20.
Fellow US-national Taylor Fritz reached the quarter-final of the competition, handing him a two-place jump in the rankings to 17th.
While there wasn’t much moving at the top of the rankings this week, it could look very different by the end of February.
Both Djokovic and Medvedev will be competing in separate tournaments over the next few weeks.
Djokovic will be heading to the United Arab Emirates for the Dubai Tennis Championships, while Medvedev will be taking part in the Mexican Open.
If the Russian matches or betters Djokovic’s performance in their respective tournaments, he’ll become the 27th male to hold the world No 1 spot.
How Medvedev could become the new world No 1
- Medvedev wins the Mexican Open title, regardless of Djokovic’s results in Dubai
- Medvedev reaches the Mexican Open final and Djokovic does not win the Dubai Tennis Championships title
- Medvedev reaches the Mexican Open semi-finals and Djokovic does not reach the Dubai Tennis Championships final
- Medvedev reaches the Mexican Open quarter-finals and Djokovic does not reach the Dubai Tennis Championships semi-finals
- Medvedev reaches the second round of the Mexican Open and Djokovic does not reach the Dubai Tennis Championships semi-finals
- Medvedev loses in the first round of the Mexican Open and Djokovic does not reach the Dubai Tennis Championships quarter-finals
