Zorya Luhansk 0-3 Roma: Chris Smalling, Tammy Abraham and Stephan El Shaarawy strike as Jose Mourinho’s men cruise to comfortable Conference League victory

  • Roma went to Ukraine to face Zorya Luhansk in the Europa Conference League   
  • Stephan El Shaarawy scored the first, rounding the keeper to tap in 
  • Chris Smalling’s header and Tammy Abraham’s tap-in sealed the victory
  • Roma have started life in the Conference League well, sitting top of Group C 

Roma are making light work of their Europa Conference League group, sweeping Ukrainians Zoyra Luhansk aside with a 3-0 victory on Thursday. 

Jose Mourinho’s side began life in the European third tier with a thumping 5-1 victory over CSKA Sofia, and cruised two points clear in Group C.  

Stephan El Shaarawy opened the scoring in the seventh minute, rounding the keeper for an open-goal tap in. 

Mourinho’s men didn’t go clear until Mourinho called on some substitutes, including Tammy Abraham, and bagged two goals in two minutes. First Chris Smalling headed in from a corner, before Riccardo Calafiori’s super work on the right setup Abraham’s tap-in.
