Porto spoiled Xabi Alonso’s first Champions League game in charge of Bayer Leverkusen with a 3-0 win over the German side at the BayArena. 

Two penalties from Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi and a goal from Galeno saw a comfortable victory for the Portuguese side. 

The result leaves Leverkusen stranded at the bottom of Group B, while Porto are in second, four points behind surprise leaders Club Brugge.
