Wrexham believe they can ‘do a Luton’ and go from non-league to Premier League
Hollywood-backed Wrexham must believe they can continue their fairy-tale story and end up reaching the Premier League, their manager has said.
The Welsh side capped off a historic season with promotion to the Football League with co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney leading the club to extraordinary heights.
As the club begin preparations for their journey towards the Premier League, manager Phil Parkinson has said it's imperative they take inspiration from the likes of Luton who became the first club to rise from non-league football to the Premier League last season.
The Hollywood owners have repeatedly spoken about their ambitions to reach the premier division of English football in which they would join a plethora of other US-based owners like Fenway Sports Group of Liverpool and the Glazer family of Manchester United.

Parkinson spoke of his owners' ambitions as he said: "When you look at teams like Luton, who have gone up, you have to say 'why not?'
"You have to [believe it can be done], because Luton were in this position, so I don't think it's a case of us getting carried away with it ourselves.

"If you understand that you need to build a club properly and put the foundations in place, like Luton Town have done, then why can't Wrexham emulate them one day?
"Years ago Bournemouth, under Eddie Howe, were on the brink of going out of business, and got into the Premier League."
Since the Hollywood actors took charge of the club, the global brand of Wrexham has certainly skyrocketed, partly due to the FX documentary 'Welcome to Wrexham' that illustrated the rise of the team under Reynolds and McElhenney.
It was a hit with viewers, having won two Critics' Choice Television Awards as well as being nominated for six Primetime Emmy Awards.
The club's pre-season tour in the United States this summer can only contribute to the attention they continue to receive after they faced Premier League powerhouse Chelsea last week and are set to face Manchester United tomorrow (July 26).
Parkinson said the meteoric rise of Wrexham has been enjoyed by opposition players as he called the club's journey an "amazing story".
“All the people I've spoken to at away grounds, like opposition players, they've all enjoyed the story,” he said.
“It's an amazing story. Two years ago we played Nantwich Town in our first friendly, this year it was Chelsea in Florida in front of 50,000.”
