Lionel Messi showed his enduring class by inspiring Argentina into the World Cup final with a crushing win over Croatia.
The star converted a penalty to give Argentina the lead on Tuesday night and then created Julian Alvarez’s second goal of the night with a wonderful dribble.
Which all begs the question – is Messi truly the greatest footballer of all-time?
Argentina will play either France or Morocco in Sunday’s final with the African nation hoping to cause another astonishing upset having dumped out Spain and Portugal.
Meanwhile, one man who didn’t make the England squad for the tournament – Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho – has been training on his own in Holland as he tried to rediscover his confidence.
Erik ten Hag has said Sancho isn’t ‘physically or mentally’ ready to return to action for United – so what is going wrong?
