Wolves’ TikTok account brilliantly trolls Jurgen Klopp over more VAR grumbles
Many might sympathise with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp for the VAR blunder that led to defeat at Tottenham on Saturday – but those in Wolverhampton aren't among them.
That much is seemingly apparent after the Wolves TikTok team published a video mocking the Reds chief for his response to the recent drama in north London. Klopp & Co. were wrongfully denied a goal after officials at Tottenham messed up and later admitted their muck-up, leading to Spurs securing a 2-1 win late on against nine-man Liverpool.
Champions League-winner Klopp has since called for the fixture to be replayed altogether, telling reporters 'something like that has never happened' to his knowledge. But Wolves' social media staff were on hand to remind the coach of his short memory.

And it's easy to see why those at Molineux may find the comments somewhat rich after posting a clip from their FA Cup clash with Liverpool in January 2023. The top-flight pair met in the third round of the competition, where Wolves fought back to draw 2-2 at Anfield before being ousted following a 1-0 home defeat in the replay.
But Wolves should have won that first edition on Merseyside when Toti Gomes' backheeled finish was wrongfully disallowed for offside. And the west Midlanders mocked up a hilarious reel of Klopp's reaction to the recent VAR drama followed by a reminder of Liverpool benefiting from an almost identical error from the officials.

The editing makes for hilarious viewing as the 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' tune comes in just prior to the punchline. And the video serves to suggest Klopp may be somewhat hypocritical in his assertions given Wolves suffered similarly as a result of that decision.
While the football community is unanimous that the VAR function was not operated correctly at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Klopp's suggestion that the game should be replayed has been met with widespread scrutiny. Considering it's far from the first costly error made by VAR officials, plenty have pondered where the line is to be drawn in which games should get a do-over.

Despite the recent drama at Spurs, ruling body IFAB reportedly has 'no plans to change the current protocol' on how VAR decisions are made. And it seems unlikely Klopp will be granted his wish to see his side's clash against Tottenham replayed.
Wolves aren't the only ones to have pointed out potential flaws in the logic that Liverpool deserve that chance. But their reaction is certainly among the funniest.
