Wolves are to step up negotiations over a £17million deal for 6ft 7ins Austria striker Sasa Kalajdzic.

The 25-year-old was left out of Stuttgart’s training session on Saturday after he held talks with head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo and he will also be left out of their squad to face Cologne in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

Wolves are pressing to reach an agreement with further talks expected on Sunday over the final fee.

Wolves are close to agreeing a deal for Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic

The 25-year-old has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs this summer

Brighton, Everton and Manchester United have all expressed interest in Kalajdzic, who has 15 caps for his country, and has scored 24 goals in 60 appearances for Stuttgart.

The former Admira Wacker striker has continued his fine recent form into this season, having contributed three assists in three games for a club that narrowly missed out on a relegation play-off spot last season.

Should the deal be completed before the end of the transfer window, the 200cm Kalajdzic will become the fifth-tallest outfield player in Premier League history.

Willy Boly is expected to leave Wolves this summer after 5 years at the club

Wolves, meanwhile, remain keen on Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson with Willy Boly expected to join Nottingham Forest.

Boly has spent five seasons at Molineux, having initially joined Wolves on loan from Porto in 2017.

The Ivory Coast international signed a permanent deal following the club’s promotion to the Premier League the following year, but has since fallen out of favour in Bruno Lage’s team and made just 10 Premier League appearances last season.
