Wolves winger Adama Traore wants two assurances before signing a new bumper contract with the club, according to reports. Amid interest from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, Wolves are preparing to make Traore their highest-paid player to fend off suitors.

Traore was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham in the closing stages of the summer transfer window, but nothing came to fruition.

The 25-year-old has two years left on his current deal at Molineux, with interest in his services likely to disappear after a solid start to the season.

According to The Sun, Wolves are ready to offer him a new four-year contract worth a whopping £25million per year amid interest from Tottenham and Liverpool.

Traore currently earns around £55,000 per week, which would increase to £120,000 if he commits his future to Wolves.

But the report claims Traore has two criteria if he’s to extend his stay at the Midlands club.

The Spain international is ambitious and wants to be sure he’s at a club capable of competing in Europe regularly.

Traore could also be persuaded to sign on at Wolves if the club includes a £60million buy-out clause in the contract, making a departure available if the valuation is met.

New manager Bruno Lage will want to keep him in his squad after a string of dominant performances to begin the new campaign.

Wolves’ performances haven’t translated into results, though, with the club sat in the Premier League relegation zone after three games.

Lage has seen his side perform well against Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, but lose all three clashes 1-0.

Tying Traore down to a new contract would be a statement of ambition from owners Fosun, under pressure after supporters were left disappointed with Wolves’ summer transfer business.

Traore’s stock has undergone a meteoric rise since joining Wolves from Middlesbrough for a then-club-record £18m in 2018.

The powerhouse was the subject of two bids from Tottenham in the summer, with the second worth £30m.

New Spurs head coach Nuno Espirito Santo wants to reunite with Traore in north London after their time together at Molineux.

Wolves are ready to pay him more than top earners Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves to tempt him to stay, with talks set to gain pace in the coming weeks.
