Wolves provide encouraging Raul Jimenez update after striker’s injury at Arsenal
Wolves have provided a positive update on Raul Jimenez five weeks on from the striker's horror injury at Arsenal.
Jimenez, 29, was involved in a heavy clash of heads with David Luiz in the first-half of Wolves' 2-1 win at the Emirates at the end of November.
After receiving treatment on the pitch for a number of minutes, the Mexican was taken to hospital and underwent surgery.
Jimenez returned to the training ground in December during the early stages of his recovery, while he has attended matches at Molineux.
And Wolves have now confirmed has begun "early fitness work" at the club's Compton base.
A statement on the club's official website reads: "Raul is five weeks since his surgery following a fractured skull and is doing some early fitness work, but still has a way to go, however things are going well."
The news will come as a boost to all associated with the club and especially to Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo, who admitted he was "worried" about his player in the immediate aftermath of the incident.
