Chelsea have lost both of their FA Cup meetings with Barnsley, who won 4-0 in the third round in 1989 and 1-0 in the quarter-finals in 2008. The sides met earlier this season in the Carabao Cup third round, with the Blues cruising to a 6-0 victory.

What has been said?

Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael on new signing Daryl Dike: “He (Dike) will bring something new and is what we wanted and have now got.

“The postponement [against Derby] may be a good thing as the positive aspect from that is that he has recovered a lot from the travel from Orlando to Barnsley with the jetlag because the first few days was a difficult time.

“But now it is fine and he has adapted. He is more ready for (the last) two days and it is a good thing for us.”

Chelsea forward Timo Werner: “Every manager is different in how he wants us to play.

“He (Tuchel) gives us a lot of ideas. Now I play as a left number 10, not a left winger.

“So I have more space for my runs in the middle and can play behind a striker, or with a number 10 behind me as a second striker.

“So it’s very good for me and I think there were also good moves from the manager in the last two wins.”
