West Ham goalkeeper Nathan Trott is poised to join Nancy on a season-long loan.

Highly-rated England youth international Trott is set for a move to France to continue his development with former Barnsley manager Daniel Stendel’s side.

Trott, 22, viewed as one of the most promising emerging English stoppers, impressed while on loan at AFC Wimbledon during the 2019-20 season.

He spent last year back at the London Stadium as part of David Moyes’s group of first-team goalkeepers.

That meant his senior game time was limited though West Ham have agreed to let him leave temporarily for the forthcoming season allowing Trott to secure regular football in France’s second tier.

Trott joined West Ham in January 2016 has progressed through their youth setup to the first team, making his debut in the Hammers’ 4-0 FA Cup win against Doncaster in January, and has also appeared on the bench a number of times.

He spent last year at London Stadium as part of David Moyes’s group of first-team goalkeepers

Bermuda-born Trott has also represented England at Under 19, 20 and 21 levels.

West Ham have Lukasz Fabianski, Darren Randolph and David Martin as senior goalkeepers.

They are also in talks with PSG over a loan deal for Alphonse Areola.

The Hammers are also in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a loan deal for Alphonse Areola
