West Ham are rivalling Burnley for Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen on loan.
Maatsen, 21, has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs this summer.
The Hammers are hoping to agree a loan move for the young Dutch defender, who impressed during pre-season under new Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Maatsen, who played for Burnley on loan last season and had a key role as the Clarets were promoted back to the Premier League, has even been tipped to start Chelsea’s opening game against Liverpool on Sunday.
But Vincent Kompany’s side want to bring the Dutch starlet back to Turf Moor ahead of the new campaign, which begins when they take on Treble winners Manchester City on Friday.
