West Ham 'in talks to sign attacker Adnan Januzaj on free transfer'

Third times the charm! West Ham ‘in talks to sign Adnan Januzaj on free transfer’… former Manchester United and Sunderland attacker could link up with David Moyes at third different club following Real Sociedad release

  • West Ham reportedly in talks to sign attacker Adnan Januzaj on free transfer
  • The Belgian is without a club after being released by La Liga side Real Sociedad
  • If move happens it will be the third time David Moyes has coached Januzaj
  • Hammers are also close to sealing transfer of Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta

Former Manchester United attacker Adnan Januzaj is reportedly in talks to sign for West Ham on a free transfer.

The Hammers have been busy during the summer transfer window as they have completed deals for six players so far, with no intention of slowing down.

Januzaj is currently a free agent as he was released by La Liga side Real Sociedad and now he could be in line for a third stint with David Moyes.

The Scottish manager worked with the Belgian winger during his time in charge of Manchester United and Sunderland, however, their paths did not cross at Sociedad as Januzaj joined the club after Moyes was sacked.

The Hammers are now in talks for another reunion between the player and manager, with the player’s representatives confident of agreeing on a deal, according to talkSPORT.

There is no pressure for the move to happen quickly, as Januzaj is not constrained by the transfer window as a free agent.

Moyes has already added six players to his West Ham squad and is aiming for more

During his time in Spain, the 27-year-old was a consistent player for Real Sociedad, playing 168 times for the club, scoring 23 goals and providing 21 assists.

This form at club level, saw him called up to the Belgian national team by boss Roberto Martínez and he played a role in the team that made it to the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup.

If a deal is to happen it will likely come after the Hammers have completed the club-record signing of midfielder Lucas Paqueta from Lyon for £51million.

The Brazilian is believed to have agreed on personal terms and is due for a medical today.
