West Ham ‘considering a bid for Yunus Musah’ to replace Declan Rice, with with Valencia ‘willing to part ways’ with the £21m-rated USA star this summer
- Rice is set to leave West Ham with Arsenal in prime position to sign him
- The money will likely be reinvested into the squad with a midfielder a priority
- Musah has made over 100 appearances for Valencia and 25 for the USA
West Ham are considering a bid for Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah, according to a report.
The Hammers are searching for a new central midfielder after it was all but confirmed that captain Declan Rice would be leaving the club this summer.
While Rice will be a big miss for the Hammers, he will bring in a big transfer fee, with it reported that Arsenal are nearing a deal for the 24-year-old.
And with the club willing to reinvest that money in the playing squad, a new midfielder will surely be top of the priority list in the transfer window.
According to Relevo, Musah could be the man to replace Rice in the West Ham midfield, with parent club Valencia willing to let the American international leave.

Musah and Rice came up against each other when the USA played England at the World Cup
Musah, who would command a £21million fee, has made over 100 appearances for the Spanish side having joined their academy as a youth player in 2019.
He had previously played for Arsenal, while he was capped at various youth levels of international football for England.
But he changed his allegiance as a first team player and made his debut for the USA in 2020, becoming one of just 12 players to make their debut for the men’s national team before their 18th birthday.
Now 20, he has 25 caps for his country, including four in the recent World Cup in Qatar, playing the full 90 minutes up against Rice’s England in the 0-0 draw in the group stage.

Mail Sport, meanwhile, reported last week that the Arsenal are ready to table £90m bid for West Ham star Rice, but face paying the West Ham skipper’s full transfer fee inside two years. The Hammers want the guaranteed portion of Rice’s transfer fee paid by next summer.
Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez is also seen as a potential replacement for Rice, as well as James Ward-Prowse of recently relegated Southamptom
While West Ham fans are set to lose their captain, Rice was recently filmed telling a young fan he is going ‘nowhere’ amid speculation the midfielder will leave this summer.
Asked which club he is going to join, Rice replied: ‘Nowhere, I’m West Ham.’
