West Brom ready to move for Derby captain Tom Lawrence

West Brom ready to move for Derby captain Tom Lawrence if they sell midfielder Matheus Pereira or goalkeeper Sam Johnstone

West Brom are considering a move for Derby County captain Tom Lawrence.

Albion need to recoup around £15million in player sales to balance their books and are looking to sell the likes of midfielder Matheus Pereira or goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

Pereira has spoken openly about his desire to leave after seeing a lucrative move to the Middle East stall while West Ham have also been credited with interest.

West Brom are weighing up a couple of options including Wales international Tom Lawrence

Should Albion get the deal they want they are weighing up a couple of options including Wales international Lawrence.

Derby are open to offers for all of their players owing to their financial issues and the uncertainty surrounding their future means Lawrence would consider a new challenge.

The 27-year old former Manchester United midfielder made 22 appearances last season and scored three goals. His experience in the Championship would also stand Albion in good stead as they look to bounce back into the Premier League.

Derby have been fighting to have their transfer embargo lifted and, while Lawrence could go, they are considering a move for QPR’s Tom Carroll if allowed to spend.

Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone could leave as Albion need to recoup around £15m in player sales
