Wenger makes Premier League title claim after Liverpool’s defeat by Leicester
Arsene Wenger ruled Liverpool out of the Premier League title race, branding their chances of catching Man City as "impossible".
The former Arsenal manager knows a thing or two about winning the division, having done so three times during his tenure in North London.
And he feels the gap between Liverpool and the league leaders is simply too vast at this stage of the season to be made up.
Asked whether he feels Jurgen Klopp's side are still in the hunt, Wenger told beIN SPORTS : "No, I don't think so.
"Man City is 10 points ahead, has one game in-hand, they look to be on a run and I don't think with 14 games to go, you can catch 13 points against a top team.
"I never seen it, 13 points. If it was eight to nine, yes, but if Man City win their game in-hand, 13 points – it's impossible."
City could go even further ahead, after Liverpool slumped to a third successive league defeat to Leicester on Saturday.
Despite taking the lead through a Mohamed Salah strike, the reigning champions capitulated, conceding three goals in the space of seven minutes.

It's been an extremely interesting start to the season for Jurgen Klopp's men.
They got their title defence off to a shaky start as they edged out a seven-goal thriller against Leeds, before going on to conceded seven in a hammering by Aston Villa.
Virgil van Dijk's season was ended by injury in the 2-2 draw at Everton, leaving the title favourites looking far less secure at the back – especially with Alisson's injury worries too.
But there's no slowing down in what is going to be a busy campaign – with Klopp ensuring his men continue at full pace as they bid for more title glory.

Even Liverpool boss Klopp admitted his side were out of the running when posed the question after the match, and accepted sloppy errors were at fault for his team's downfall.
“It was a really, really good football game. They were one position ahead of us, maybe now more, I don’t know, but on the pitch that was not obvious," Klopp said.
“We were the clear dominant side. We played the football we wanted to play, we avoided their counter-attacks, we did pretty much everything we had to do.

“We scored a really nice goal, had more chances but that’s normal. We have to work harder in our situation to create more chances to get more goals.
“But the game was really good then you concede these two goals, and the third one obviously lose the ball too easy and one pass, they are done.
“That’s something I don’t like because we were obviously much too open in that moment. I told the boys already that’s not OK.
“But that’s the situation we are in.”
