Marcelo bid farewell to his Real Madrid team-mates in a star-studded leaving party on Sunday night after calling time on his 15-year stay at the club this summer.

The Brazilian defender, who made 546 appearances for Real while winning six La Liga titles and five Champions Leagues, brought the curtain down on his iconic Bernabeu career when his contract expired at the end of last month.

He departs as the most decorated player in Los Blancos history, having swept up a staggering 25 honours since arriving from Fluminense.

And to say their farewells to the club legend, a host of Real stars headed out for Marcelo’s leaving party at Zuma Restaurant in Madrid on Sunday.

Amongst the players in attendance were Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Nacho Fernandez, Dani Ceballos, Lucas Vazquez, Jesus Vallejo and Mariano Diaz.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti was also seen arriving at the glitzy bash, while his son and assistant Davide even made an appearance.

As well as his Madrid colleagues, Marcelo was joined by Spanish actor Pedro Alonso, best known for playing ‘Berlin’ in the hit Spanish TV series Money Heist.

Marcelo is bowing out as a Real player on a high, having clinched a fifth and final Champions League crown last season.

Ancelotti’s men beat PSG, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool on their way to the title, and while the 34-year-old only enjoyed 40 minutes of action in the knockout stages he still lifted the trophy aloft after the Paris final.

In an emotional press conference last month, he then declared Los Blancos ‘the greatest club in the world’ while officially ending his successful stint at the club.

When asked if he could one day return in a different role, Marcelo said: ‘I don’t think about returning because I don’t feel like I’m leaving.

‘But no, I don’t think there would be any problem to return. It’s not a goodbye. If I come back here and ask for a ticket and don’t get one, you’ll have a problem!

‘But I don’t see myself as a coach. I’ve never understood tactics much. So, imagine me as a coach! I don’t think I can be a coach. Maybe I could learn, but I don’t think it’s even worth trying it.’
