Villa agree Bailey deal, Grealish bid to be accepted, Norwich raid on way
Manchester City's pursuit of Jack Grealish is dominating the transfer window speculation, but Aston Villa have been making their own moves.
Having signed Emi Buendia from Norwich for £35m, Dean Smith's side have now agreed a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for winger Leon Bailey.
And they're not stopping there, with another promotion-winning Canaries star reportedly on their radar.
What all this means for Villa's hopes of holding on to Grealish remains to be seen – but fans made their feelings clear during Saturday's pre-season friendly win over Bristol City.
Here, Daily Star Sport rounds up the day's transfer news from Villa Park…
Villa agree Bailey deal
Villa have agreed a fee with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of Leon Bailey.
The winger will join subject to passing a medical and finalising personal terms, Villa announced on their official website.
Bailey, 23, netted an impressive 15 goals in the Bundesliga last term, and will complement an attack containing Ollie Watkins, Emi Buendia and – at the moment – Grealish.
Midlands rivals Wolves are also thought to be keen on the Jamaica international, who according to Bild sees the Premier League as 'the next step' in his career.
Villa fans reacted to the news on Twitter – with some saying it paves the way for Grealish to leave, while others said the winger wouldn't have joined unless he thought the England star was staying.
City's Grealish bid 'to be accepted'
Villa are set to accept a £100million bid from City for Grealish, according to Sky Sports .
And The Telegraph has claimed the England international could have a medical at the Etihad as early as next week.
But Villa supporters are defiant in hopes of keeping their captain – as they showed during Saturday's pre-season friendly against Bristol City.
"You can shove your £100m up your a**e," was the chant from the stands as the Villans won 3-0 with goals from Ollie Watkins, Ezri Konsa and Jaden Philogene-Bidace – with Grealish not involved following his exertions at Euro 2020.
Villa set for second Norwich raid
Villa will target Norwich star Todd Cantwell if Grealish does leave for City, according to The Express.
Smith's side have already signed Buendia from the Canaries, and are set to test the newly promoted side's resolve to keep hold of left-sided midfielder Cantwell.
The 23-year-old scored six goals and chipped in with the same number of assists as Norwich won the Championship title last term, and would be expected to cost around £20m.
