Uncanny Jurgen Klopp lookalike spotted on touchline cheering in Champions League

An eagle-eyed football fan has spotted a Jurgen Klopp lookalike on the touchline for Shakhtar Donetsk’s game with RB Leipzig.

Journalist Ronan Murphy, watching the game and writing on Twitter, highlighted the glaring resemblance that the coach, Igor Jovicevic, shared with the Liverpool legend.

“Jürgen Klopp absolutely delighted with that second Shakhtar Donetsk goal,” he jokingly tweeted.

And many thoroughly agreed with the assessment. “Carbon Kloppy”, one replied. “A true German who despises Leipzig's existence,” said another. A third wrote: “Jürgen Kloppshinski."

Jovicevic presided over his side as they thrashed RB Leipzig 4-1 in their opening Champions League group stage match at the Red Bull Arena.

Marian Shved netted either side of Mohamed Simakan's goal for 2-1. Before 21-year-old Mykhaylo Mudryk and Lassina Traore piled on the misery for the Ukrainian side.

Shakhtar have already earned more points and goals than they achieved last campaign, netting just two and getting two draws in the previous occasion.

"I could not have imagined in my wildest dreams such a game with four goals for us," said Taras Stepanenko, the club’s captain, after the match. "But we played well and I feel we deserved that result tonight.

"Yes, it is right I have been with the club for over a decade. This is a new team, but many of these young players are from the Shakhtar academy so they have the Shakhtar spirit and this really helps us a lot."

Lots of praise went to youngster Mudryk, who shone in a fine display that had viewers at home gushing online.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “There’s a new potential star around. If you look at what Mychajlo Mudryk did tonight, you’ll understand why Shakhtar Donetsk refused €30/35m bids last week. Quality, pace, goal, assists — he’s considered a top, top talent and so that’s why Shakhtar wanted >€50m.”

It is thought that West Ham made an approach for the winger but they refused to meet his current side’s valuation.
