Tweet showing cat’s reaction to Kurt Zouma on TV screen has aged horrendously
A tweet that appeared to show a cat watching Kurt Zouma play for West Ham on TV has now gone viral after the central defender was slammed for kicking and slapping his feline pet.
The France international, who was surprisingly handed a start by David Moyes during their Premier League victory over Watford on Tuesday (February 8), was forced to issue a grovelling apology this week.
The club also promised to deal with the matter internally after the video was shared online, which showed the 27-year-old kicking his cat across a kitchen.
Rather strangely, Twitter user Alistair Coleman had made a joke involving his own pet as recently as Saturday (February 5) during West Ham's FA Cup clash against Kidderminster.
With one tweet showing his cat sitting in front of the television after the Hammers went 1-0 down, he added a caption as if it was saying: "Blummin’ hell West Ham, get a grip you absolute JOKE."
Moments later, the cat put it's paw on the screen as the camera zoomed in on Zouma.
Alistair joked: "Right then Zouma, I want you using the width, get in behind them and leave half a dead mouse in the goalmouth."
Before adding on Tuesday (February 8): "Well, this has aged badly."

Both West Ham and Zouma had released statements before Tuesday's fixture, with the club saying that the matter will be dealt with internally.
They wrote: "West Ham United unreservedly condemns the actions of our player, Kurt Zouma, in the video that has circulated.
"We have spoken to Kurt and will be dealing with the matter internally, but we would like to make it clear that we in no way condone cruelty towards animals."
"I want to apologise for my actions. There are no excuses for my behaviour, which I sincerely regret," the centre-back said in his own statement.
"I also want to say how deeply sorry I am to anyone who was upset by the video. I would like to assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy.
"They are loved and cherished by our entire family, and this behaviour was an isolated incident that will not happen again."
