Tuchel kicks Leroy Sane in his first Bayern Munich training session
Thomas gets tough! Tuchel kicks Leroy Sane on the bum and holds one-on-one talks with the winger during his first training session as Bayern Munich boss… with £55m ex-Man City star reportedly struggling in Germany
- Thomas Tuchel appeared to give Leroy Sane special attention in his first session
- Reports suggest Sane is struggling at Bayern with his family living in England
- Tuchel will oversee his first match as Bayern boss against Borussia Dortmund
New Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel was spotted giving winger Leroy Sane a small kick on the bum during his first training session in charge.
Tuchel was appointed on Friday after the reigning German champions took the shock decision to sack Julian Nagelsmann.
The former Chelsea, PSG and Borussia Dortmund oversaw training for the first at the club’s Sabener Strasse base on Tuesday.
The opening 15 minutes of the session were open to media, with Sane receiving some tough love from his new boss.
Tuche was initially spotted giving the winger a gentle kick on the bum, as the squad jogged away after being introduced to their new head coach.

The public singling out of Sane could be viewed as a show of support for the German winger
He was then seen pulling Sane aside from the rest of the group to have a one-on-one conversation.
The attention shown to Sane could be an early attempt to support and understand the former Manchester City winger amid recent struggles.
The Germany international had not been part of Bayern’s training sessions during the international break last week, leading to speculation as to his whereabouts.
German newspaper Bild reported Sane was granted time away from the club as he was desperate to spend some time with partner Candice Brook and their children, Rio Stella and Milo.
They moved back to England because Candice no longer wanted to live in Munich and splits her time between London and Manchester, where Sane was a City player until his £54.8million move to Bayern in 2020.
This has reportedly led to Sane commuting between London, Manchester and Munich.
Bild says Sane is feeling lonely in Munich without his family and can’t even live at his villa because it is undergoing repairs.
Sane has faced recent criticism, due to scoring only three goals and providing one assist since the World Cup in Qatar.
Despite the dip in form, Sane has still scored 13 goals and provided seven assists across his 32 appearances this season.
Last month, Sane was left fuming after the Bayern team bus departed without him ahead of a Bundesliga fixture against Borussia Monchengladbach.
A revitalised Sane would be a major boost for Bayern in their hopes of winning the Bundesliga
Tuchel is preparing his side for a top of the table clash against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday
Reports said Sane arrived at the meeting point six minutes late as he’d stayed out after a training session to practice free-kicks. Sane travelled in a private car after missing the team bus.
The appointment of Tuchel could be an opportunity for the winger to regain his form, with the German having reportedly been keen on signing Sane when he was the manager of Chelsea.
An in-form Sane would represent a major boost for Bayern as they seek to retain their Bundesliga title and prepare for a Champions League quarter-final against his former club Man City.
Bayern are currently one point behind Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, with the teams meeting in Tuchel’s first match in charge on Saturday.
