    Sarr snubs Chelsea exit

Chelsea defender Malang Sarr has rejected the chance to leave on loan this month, amid interest from AC Milan and Napoli.

According to football.london, the 22-year-old has snubbed a temporary move abroad because he’s happy with his current run of games at Chelsea.

Sarr impressed many supporters at left-back in the Blues’ 1-0 win at Tottenham on Wednesday.

He could deputise Marcos Alonso for the remainder of the season in Ben Chilwell’s absence if Chelsea can’t recall Emerson Palmieri.

DONE DEAL! David Neres joins Shakhtar Donetsk

There’s been a notable move in Europe, as highly-rated Ajax winger David Neres has joined Shakhtar Donetsk on a permanent move.

    The 24-year-old Brazilian moves in a deal worth £13.3million (€16m) – a £10m transfer fee plus £3.3m in bonuses.

It could have major implications for Tottenham Hotspur, with Ajax now set to go all-out for winger Steven Bergwijn.

    Arsenal progress Arthur talks

Arsenal are continuing negotiations with Juventus for midfielder Arthur Melo on Friday.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have offered a short loan with his full salary covered until June.

However, Juventus are reluctant to let the Brazil international leave until they secure a replacement.

    Newcastle target three more names

Newcastle United have, predictably, been making the most waves among Premier League clubs in their first transfer window under new ownership.

The Magpies have already splashed £12million on Kieran Trippier and paid Chris Wood’s £25m release clause.

Eddie Howe’s attention now turns towards his defence, with Diego Carlos and Nikola Milenkovic reportedly targeted in a double central-defensive swoop.

According to Calciomercato, Newcastle have also intensified their interest in Norwich City winger Todd Cantwell.

    Arsenal’s seven-man shortlist

Mikel Arteta has drawn up a seven-man shortlist as he looks to bolster his Arsenal ranks during the January transfer window.

The Mirror report Arteta wants to recruit players in two positions before the January 31 deadline – a central midfielder and striker.

His shortlist is made up of five midfield names – Palmeiras’ Danilo, Lyon’s Bruno Guimaraes, Leicester’s Youri Tielemans, Juventus’ Arthur and PSG’s Gini Wijnaldum.

Lille’s Jonathan David and Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic round off his hopeful wishlist ahead of the final two weeks of the month.

    Man Utd’s Tielemans hope

Brendan Rodgers has admitted Youri Tielemans could leave Leicester City this summer, in a potential boost for Manchester United.

With Paul Pogba set to leave United in the same transfer window, the stars could align for the 24-year-old to arrive as his long-term replacement.

Fabrizio Romano has previously stated that Tielemans is one to watch in the Red Devils’ search for Pogba’s successor.

“I would love it to be here at Leicester, that is natural, but I understand it’s a very short career.
