Transfer news LIVE-Man Utd submit £43m bid, Chelsea done deal, Arsenal medical
The summer transfer window has been open for two weeks now and already it’s shaping up to be one of the most active we’ve seen. Among the busiest teams is Arsenal, who have already snapped Kai Havertz for £65million and are expected to add Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice to their ingoings in the next few days.
The structure of a deal for Rice is still being haggled but Timber to Arsenal is reportedly a done deal with the Gunners looking to complete the player’s medical next week. Meanwhile, Chelsea have been very active in terms of outgoings.
They’ve already moved on the likes of Havertz, Kalidou Koulibaly, Mateo Kovacic and Edouardo Mendy in a desperate attempt to recoup funds after previous heavy spending. And it seems long-term servant Cesar Azpilicueta is next having entered into advanced talks with Athletico Madrid for a move back to Spain this summer.
The other major piece of news this morning is that Manchester United are set to submit a £43.8m bid including add-ons for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana. Inter reportedly want a £43m base fee before bonuses come into play, very close to United’s opening offer.
Man Utd £44m bid for Onana
Manchester United are preparing an opening bid for Andre Onana believed to be worth £38.7m plus £4.3m worth of add-ons.
Inter Milan are hoping to receive at least £43m as a base fee for their goalkeeper before bonuses are even considered. It appears both teams aren’t particularly far apart in their valuation of the player and should get the deal done quickly.
Azpilicueta done deal
Cesar Azpilicueta is almost certainly on his way to Athletico Madrid. The Spanish giants are currently in advanced talks with the defender with the deal expected to be completed next week.
Azpilicueta is Chelsea’s longest-serving player having joined the club in 2012. He has gone on to win two Premier League titles, a Champions League, a League Cup and two FA Cup’s with the Blues during that time.
Timber’s Arsenal medical
A deal for Jurrien Timber has been verbally agreed upon between Arsenal and Ajax with the paperwork set to be completed after Saturday.
Timber will undergo a medical with the Gunners at the start of next week The player is said to be using Ajax’s gym before travelling to London in order to get himself as fit as possible.
