Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd £63m bid, Chelsea £112m deal close, Mudryk

The January transfer window is now officially open and it’s already shaping up to be one of the busiest winter windows of recent times. Liverpool have already swooped in to land £50million Cody Gakpo, while Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are already showing signs of movement. Express Sport brings you the latest news, done deals and gossip on Tuesday January 3…

Arsenal up Mudryk bid

Arsenal remain in negotiations with Shakhtar Donetsk after upping their offer for Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The Gunners saw their opening proposal worth around £55m including add-ons waved away by the Ukrainian champions last week but now they are back at the table.

It’s understood the Gunners new proposal still falls well short of Shakhtar’s £85m valuation but that hasn’t stopped Arsenal from trying their luck again.

Express Sport understands there is no update on Arsenal’s new offer and that negotiations remain ongoing between both clubs.

Mudryk wants the move to north London and is now eagerly awaiting Shakhtar to agree a fee with Arsenal.

He would also be ready to sign a long-term contract in north London as he continues to flirt with the Gunners on social media.

Chelsea close to £112m Enzo deal

Chelsea look set to smash the Premier League transfer record as they close in on £112m Enzo Fernandez, who looks set to arrive imminently from Benfica.

The Blues have been locked in negotiations with Benfica over a deal as they seek to structure payments that cover his monumental release clause.

Fernandez was named the Young Player of the Tournament at the World Cup in Qatar as he helped Argentina secure the victory.

That has encouraged the Blues to reach deep into their pockets to fend off interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Only final details reportedly remain before Fernandez heads to west London for a medical and with the Blues in desperate need of some fresh blood, his potential arrival will be welcomed by Graham Potter, his team-mates and Chelsea supporters.

Man Utd plot £53m striker bid

L’Equipe in France say Manchester United are preparing to launch a move for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani, who starred at the World Cup in Qatar for France.

The 24-year-old frontman put himself in the shop window after catching the eye in the semi-final and final for Les Blues before their agonising penalty-shootout defeat to Argentina in Doha.

Kolo Muani only joined Frankfurt this summer from Nantes but now United are seemingly preparing an offer which could reportedly amass £53million.

Frankfurt are fully aware that interest is growing in their centre-forward and given he is tied down to a long-term contract, they are likely to demand huge money in order to agree to a sale.

United are in the market for a striker after offloading Cristiano Ronaldo but so far, the market looks starved of standout options.
