Transfer news LIVE: Greenwood attracts interest, Alli clause, Arsen…
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta reviews the West Ham game
With a weekend of Premier League football now complete, attention behind the scenes will turn to plotting summer transfer moves ready for the window to open. Chelsea, once again, highlighted their need for further investment with a 2-1 defeat at home to Brighton, with interim manager Frank Lampard struggling to make his homecoming a successful one.
The Blues looked short of any sort of presence in the final third, highlighting why the club are set to be in the market for a striker. Napoli star Victor Osimhen and Brentford’s Ivan Toney are both admired at Stamford Bridge, and the pair are also being considered by Manchester United too.
Erik ten Hag is desperate to discover the outcome of takeover negotiations regarding the Glazers so that he can prioritise his spending. The former Ajax boss is keen to bring in a No 9 and a midfielder, though his side’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest underlined why the club need to bring in defensive reinforcements as well.

Arsenal given transfer instructions
Former Premier League forward Gabriel Agbonlahor has told Arsenal to sell Folarin Balogun this summer to fund a move for a ‘proven striker’.
Speculation is growing that the youngster could leave the club at the end of the campaign if he does not receive assurance of game time at the Emirates Stadium – and Agbonlahor feels a sale would be best for all parties.
He told Football Insider: “He’s done well in France, but I don’t think he’s Arsenal standard. They’re going to be in the Champions League next season, they need another proven striker to compete with [Eddie] Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus.
“I don’t think Arsenal would use him next season if he came back. Him scoring goals in France has helped the club. Now they can put him up for sale and name their price. It’s definitely a sale waiting for Arsenal to make.”
Alli bonuses blow
Despite Sean Dyche appearing to throw Dele Alli a lifeline upon his return to Everton, the playmaker may be on the move again this summer. The England international is at a crossroads in his career, with his performances and attitude coming under fire wherever he goes.
Frank Lampard signed Alli from Tottenham previously on a free transfer, though with bonuses that could reach £40million. The first of which is that if the 27-year-old makes 20 appearances for the Toffees then they would have to pay Spurs £10m.
Alli has made 13 appearances for the Goodison Park outfit to date, and their finances would suggest that throwing seven caps to Alli would be a financial decision not worth making.

Greenwood future hangs in the balance
Manchester United could allow Mason Greenwood to leave the club this summer, with AC Milan reportedly showing an interest in acquiring his services.
According to Relevo, the Serie A side ‘appreciate his quality’, with the England international’s future at Old Trafford unclear having not featured for the club since January 2022.
Greenwood could follow in the footsteps of the likes of David Beckham and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in making the move to Italy from the Premier League.
United are holding an investigation into Greenwood’s off-field matters currently following several allegations being made against the striker previously, which he has now been cleared of.
