Transfer news LIVE as Man Utd eye defender and Chelsea hold Juve swap deal talks
Manchester United are expected to wrap up the signing of Rasmus Hojlund on Tuesday when the Atalanta frontman is due to arrive in England to undergo a medical with the Red Devils. An agreement worth £72million was reached between the two clubs on Saturday and with personal terms already in place between United and the player, the deal is now on the verge of completion.
United are not expected to stop there though and although the focus will shift to outgoings, they still hope to strengthen their squad in three different areas including defensive midfield, centre-back and between the sticks.
Meanwhile, United’s move for Hojlund is set to hand Bayern Munich a clear run at Harry Kane following their latest meeting with Tottenham in London on Monday.
The Bundesliga club remain £20m apart from Spurs’ £100m valuation but Tottenham are now believed to be open to a sale after being told Kane is unlikely to sign a new contract anytime soon.
Chelsea are now upping the ante in the transfer market and are in active talks to sign a goalkeeper and striker in addition to Moises Caicedo.
Progress could be made on both fronts as soon as Tuesday and Express Sport is on hand to keep you updated on all the latest developments from the transfer market on Tuesday, August 1.

Man Utd defender swoop
Fabrizio Romano says Manchester United could pursue a move for Nice defender Jean Clair-Todibo.
He told The United Stand: “I think Todibo remains one of the players they appreciate.
“People remember that we mentioned the French Market when my United were looking for a new centre back and he was one of them.
“They’ve always been regularly following Todibo, who did very well with Nice, he’s one of the players they are tracking, and they had some contacts. It was the end of May-beginning of June.”
Chelsea striker swap deal talks
Chelsea are now in talks to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus as part of a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku that could also include cash.
Juventus want to sign Lukaku but can only afford the Belgian if they sell the Serbian frontman.
Now the two clubs are working on a compromise – a straight swap deal that would satisfy both of their needs.
Vlahovic is still only 23 but has failed to live up to expectations in Turin following his big-money switch from Fiorentina in January 2022.
Lukaku had been keen on a return to Inter Milan but he has now burned all bridges at San Siro after discussing a transfer to Juve, who represent Chelsea’s best chance of offloading the £97.5m flop.
Arsenal £15m Raya bid
The Mail are reporting that Arsenal want to submit an opening offer of £15m for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.
Bayern Munich are believed to have cooled their interest after learning of Brentford’s £40m price tag.
Arsenal want to bring in the Spaniard, who is now in the final year of his contract, to compete with Aaron Ramsdale between the sticks.
Raya is keen on the move and wants to make the switch across London but the Bees may have to reduce their valuation to finalise a sale.
