With the Premier League season just a couple of weeks away, squads are starting to take shape – but there’s still plenty of transfer business to be done.  

Manchester United finally reached a £72million agreement for Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund yesterday, easing their striker worries.

Meanwhile, Nathan Ake committed his future to Manchester City by penning a new four-year contract worth £160,000 per week.  

But there is still plenty of business to be done, whether it’s bringing in a new man or tying down your own talent long-term – something Spurs will be really eager to do with Harry Kane, though such prospects look vanishingly slim.

Harry Kane is close to an historic deal with Bayern Munich. A summit will be held on Monday between Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, and Bayern technical director Marco Neppe. The Bavarians are likely to bid around £75m but Levy wants in the region of £90m. (Mail Sport)

Chelsea are nearing a move for Rennes midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu. The 19-year-old is set for his medical and has agreed personal terms with Chelsea for a transfer worth £23.5m. (Evening Standard)  

Spurs are interested in Bayern Munich’s 18-year-old forward Mathys Tel as a potential replacement for Harry Kane if he leaves. The youngster, who scored six times in 28 appearances for the Bavarians last season, is highly rated, with former boss Julian Nagelsmann saying ‘can score 40 goals a season one day’. Liverpool are poised to make a second approach for Southampton’s Romeo Lavia. The Reds had an initial offer of £37m rejected for the 19-year-old midfielder. Jurgen Klopp admitted the club need to strengthen with Fabinho set to follow Jordan Henderson to Saudi Arabia. (Mail Sport) 

Aston Villa are planning to make a move for free agent Adama Traore after he was released by Wolves. The 27-year-old previously played for the Midlands outfit in 2015/16 and 2016/17. (Football Insider)

Roma are set to take Gianluca Scamacca on loan, with an option to buy the 24-year-old for £19m. After arriving at West Ham a year ago the Italian could only muster eight goals and is poised to return to his homeland. (Calciomercato) 

Sheffield United are holding out for £30million for striker Iliman Ndiaye amid interest from Marseille. The 23-year-old fired in 15 goals for the Blades last campaign. Marseille were under the impression that they could get him for £11m with just a year left on his contract. (The Sun on Sunday)

Edinson Cavani is interested in a move to Boca Juniors. The Argentine forward paid £1.3m to terminate his Valencia contract just a year after leaving Manchester United. His brother, Christian, confirmed earlier this week that the striker wanted to play in South America for the first time since 2007. (Mail Sport)

James Rodriguez could be close to joining Sao Paola. The Colombian midfielder, 32, has been a free agent ever since leaving Olympiacos in April. He has also received an offer from an MLS club. (MARCA)

Rangers’ Fashion Sakala remains a target for an unnamed Saudi Arabian club. The forward will be tested with another offer after reportedly turning down a mega-money opportunity in the Middle East. (The Scottish Sun)
