Tottenham face further doubt over their fixture at Leicester this Thursday after another first-team player tested positive for COVID-19. There has also been a fresh oubtreak among the club’s under-23 players. Spurs have already seen matches against Rennes and Brighton called off due to positive cases last week.

Spurs players who have recovered from coronavirus and those who tested negative returned to the club’s training ground on Sunday.

Boss Antonio Conte was set to hold a training session on Monday.

However, The Telegraph reports a further blow to the north London side.

Conte could have as few as 13 players for the Premier League match at Leicester on Thursday.

The report says there is a large outbreak among the club’s under-23 players.

Eight first-team players and nine members of staff tested positive last week.

It is now unclear what the figure is now at.

Conte was attempting to prepare a team for the clash with Leicester.

But his plans have now been thrown into more chaos, with a lack of under-23 players to pad out his squad and many of his staff still isolating.

Spurs aren’t the only club to have Covid issues this week.

Manchester United have suffered an outbreak ahead of their trip to Brentford on Tuesday.

Aston Villa also shut their training ground at the weekend after a player and some staff tested positive.
