Antonio Conte’s appointment has injected new life into Tottenham’s season, but the club has been warned that it will not stop Harry Kane from seeking a transfer away. The striker famously tried to secure a move away from the club last summer but ended up staying put after Manchester City refused to meet Daniel Levy’s eye-watering demands.
Kane handed in a transfer request over the summer after Manchester City made their interest public in order to tempt the striker to move up north.
A bid of £128million was tabled, but with Tottenham chief Daniel Levy wanting £150m as a minimum, their interest waned and Kane was forced to remain at the club.
The club are currently languishing in ninth place after five defeats in their last seven Premier League matches, which resulted in the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Italian boss Conte has been brought in to stop the rot and make Tottenham a top-four outfit once again.
But pundit and ex-Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson believes it won’t be plain sailing for the former Chelsea boss, with Kane likely to ask for a move again over the winter transfer window.

“The Harry Kane thing starts all over again in January,” Merson predicted.
“Look at Man City, they’ve failed to score in six of their 16 games this season, which is unthinkable. I think in January, Kane to City is still alive.
“Man City are in danger of falling behind Chelsea at the moment. This is the problem Nuno had, and Conte has the same issue with Kane.
“He’ll have to hit the ground running. Spurs fans want to play the ‘Tottenham Way’ – I’m not sure what that is, exactly, as they haven’t won anything.

Tottenham’s last trophy was in 2008, which was a huge factor in Kane reaching the conclusion that he wanted to leave.
The England striker has come close to three trophies in the last two years in the form of cup finals – although he lost them all, two with Tottenham and one with England.
Kane is however said to be particularly excited by Conte’s arrival.
The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss is clearly looking forward to work with the striker as well, having spoken highly of Kane on numerous occasions in the past.

When he was managing Chelsea, Conte said: “Tottenham is a really good squad if they are able to keep all the players,” said Conte.
“For me, Kane, now, is one of the best strikers in the world. If I had to buy one striker I would go to Kane. He is a complete striker.
“He is strong physically, with the ball, without the ball, he fights and he’s strong in the air and acrobatic on the right and the left. He’s a complete player.
“He’s one of the top strikers in the world. If you go to buy Kane now it would be at least £100m.
“At least. For me, if I see this price for a striker I know for sure he’s a big striker.”
