Tottenham are interested in England defender Marc Guehi as Crystal Palace brace themselves for a fight to keep another key player ahead of next season.

Spurs will look to sign as many as two new centre-backs ahead of next season with Guehi prominently in their plans.

Clement Lenglet’s loan expires in the summer, while there are doubts over Davinson Sanchez’s long-term future at Spurs.

Guehi has emerged as one of the best young centre-backs in England since joining from Swansea at the start of last season.

His performances propelled him into Gareth Southgate’s plans, the 22-year-old making his intentional debut in 2022. He now has three caps.

The Chelsea academy graduate just missed out on making the England squad for the World Cup, but is back on Southgate’s radar ahead of next month’s games against Italy and Ukraine.

Inter Milan defenders Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar and Red Bull Leipzig’s centre back Jose Gvardiol are also on Tottenham’s radar, though those three deals will be difficult to pull off.

But Spurs are ready to explore their interest in Guehi, who significantly qualifies as a homegrown player.

Palace want to keep Guehi given his huge importance to Patrick Vieira’s team, but the club will consider selling if they receive a big offer. Any bids in-excess of £45million could tempt Palace.

Guehi isn’t the only player who could leave Selhurst Park this summer, with the Eagles still waiting to hear star player Wilfried Zaha’s intentions ahead of next season.

The Ivory Coast international is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and is yet to sign a new contract that has been on the table for several weeks.

It is understood Zaha, who is recovering from a thigh injury, is yet to provide the club with a definitive decision over his future.
