Harry Kane seemed to have his heart set on a move from Tottenham to Manchester City this summer as the Premier League champions went in hot pursuit of the superstar striker. But Spurs chairman Daniel Levy refused to sanction a move and Kane was forced to stay put.
The tumultuous summer has clearly had an impact on Kane and he has been unable to hit his usual heights in the opening weeks of the new Premier League season.
After being left out of Spurs’ opening game against City, Kane appeared from the bench against Wolves the next weekend and was soon thrust back into the starting line-up.
But he has yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League as his side have struggled in front of goal.
The 28-year-old is a world-class striker and may push for a move away from north London once again next summer.
And former Tottenham defender and Premier League champion William Gallas has urged the club to sell their leading man to a ‘bigger club.’

“I said in the summer he should leave Tottenham and to go to a bigger club that can give him the opportunity to lift a trophy in this career,” said Gallas.
“Every big player wants to win the Premier League or the Champions League. I’m sure that’s what Harry wants.
“He didn’t have a good game against Chelsea. He is affected by what happened during the summer because he wanted to leave – it didn’t happen.
“He needs time to clear his mind. I’m sure he will give 100 per cent to his club again. He has to start performing to give himself more chance to leave at the end of the season.”

Gallas spent three years at Tottenham before his Premier League playing days came to an end in 2013.
The 44-year-old, who also enjoyed spells with Chelsea and Arsenal, trained alongside a young Kane during his days at Spurs and admits he was very impressed with the player’s desire to succeed.
“I hope it happens for Harry next season,” Gallas continued. “I trained with him at Tottenham when he was very young.
“Even as a young player, he knew what he wanted. He knew he wanted to be one of the top strikers in the Premier League. He has already won a few golden boots.
“You have to give Kane the guarantee he’s going to play with top-class players – players who can give him the opportunity to win the Premier League or a title at the end of the season.
“He guarantees goals but Tottenham can’t guarantee him a chance at winning the title.
“But if you put yourself in Daniel Levy’s position, you’ve got to keep Harry Kane because he’s one of the top strikers in the world.”
