Tottenham chief Daniel Levy believes Harry Kane will stay at the club for at least one more season, according to reports. The England international is a top Manchester City and PSG transfer target amid uncertainties over the futures of Sergio Aguero and Kylian Mbappe. However, while Spurs are sure he’ll stay put, there are concerns that exist over in north London.

It’s been a difficult season so far for Tottenham, with Jose Mourinho’s side struggling for consistency.

But Kane, as ever, has been a shining light – scoring 20 goals across all competitions to try and lift them out of their rut.

His fine form has put him on City’s radar as they hunt a long-term replacement for Aguero, while PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino is also keen on a reunion.

Yet the Telegraph say Tottenham think Kane will stay put for another year.

However, they also think they have two issues when it comes to keeping hold of their star striker for considerably longer.

They reportedly believe Kane will become a ‘depreciating asset’ as his contract winds down, with the England captain currently tied to the club until 2024.

And they also know Kane wants to win trophies, something that Tottenham haven’t done since scooping the EFL Cup under Juande Ramos back in 2008.

The report says Tottenham supremo Levy has never discussed a possible price tag for Kane.

That’s despite other suggestions it would take a fee in the region of £150million to convince them into selling up.

And it seems that, with the coronavirus primed to disrupt the summer transfer window yet again, Tottenham can plan for the short-term with Kane in their ranks.

The 27-year-old will be hoping to fire Tottenham back to winning ways when they face Burnley on Sunday.

And Tottenham will be hoping for a repeat of what happened when the teams met earlier in the campaign, with Son Heung-Min scoring the only goal of the game at Turf Moor.

Meanwhile, Charlie Austin recently opened up on Kane and expressed a belief he’d end up leaving Tottenham to win trophies.

“What’s he going for? If he stays at Tottenham, they’re in a final but they’ve got to improve the squad to get to the levels of Man City,” Austin told talkSPORT.

“Does he stay there, beat Jimmy Greaves’ record and then try to go for Alan Shearer’s record?

“As a player, does he want Premier League titles and trophies? Because if we’re being honest, Tottenham are falling short.

“Every player who plays in the Premier League wants to win it. I think, at Tottenham, they’re going to have to make big changes because they are short at the moment.”

It’s emerged Kane wants Tottenham to keep hold of Mourinho.

Talk of the sack has gathered momentum, with two managers strongly linked.

The first is Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers, who has steered the Foxes to third in the Premier League table this season – playing some entertaining football along the way.

And the second is Julian Nagelsmann, whose RB Leipzig side are currently jostling with Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title.

But Kane wants Mourinho to stay – and whether that happens is something only time will tell.

He’s not won a trophy since 2017, back when he was manager of Manchester United, and is under pressure to deliver on that front.
