Tottenham target Man Utd star after £50m asking price is set
Manchester United are open to selling Anthony Martial after completing their deal to sign Jadon Sancho, according to reports.
Earlier this week, United finally sealed their £72.9 million deal to sign the England international from Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho was identified by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as his top target to improve the right side of United’s attack.
Martial, meanwhile, has shown a preference to play through the middle in his last two seasons at Old Trafford.
However, the Daily Star reports that United want to sell Martial ‘as soon as possible’ in order to balance their finances.
The report claims that Tottenham are interested in the France international, while United have set a £50 million asking price.
Martial, who was signed in a £36m deal from Monaco in 2015, has scored 78 goals in 258 appearances during his time at Old Trafford.
The forward was in contention to be part of France’s squad for Euro 2020 earlier this summer but a knee injury ruled him out of the tournament.
Martial reported back to pre-season training with United earlier this month but has not been able to fully take part in the sessions with the first team.
On Saturday, United suffered a surprise 4-2 defeat to QPR in their second pre-season friendly.
