Erik Lamela's incredible rabona goal against Arsenal was named the winner of the 2021 Puskas Award at the FIFA Best ceremony on Monday.
Lamela's ingenious finish won the Premier League goal of the season gong and beat off even more intense competition to claim the coveted goal of the year award.
The 29-year-old, who was later sent off as Spurs lost 2-1 at the Emirates, produced the incredible strike to put Jose Mourinho's side 1-0 up midway through the first half.
He is the second Tottenham player to win the Puskas award in as many years after Son Heung-min won the 2020 prize for his superb solo goal against Burnley.
Lamela's goal was one of three in the running to win Puskas award.
The other nominees were Patrick Schick, for his goal from the halfway line against Scotland at Euro 2020, and Porto star Mehdi Taremi, for his goal against Chelsea in the Champions League.
But it was Lamela who prevailed, and the Argentine appeared delighted as he joined the ceremony via video link.
"Thank you so much, I’m very happy to win this award," said Lamela.
"Honestly, nothing [was going through his mind], in that moment I didn’t think too much.
"I didn’t realise how special the goal was.

"I just kicked the ball and started running around the pitch with my teammates!"
Remarkably, Lamela's goal against Arsenal was the second rabona finish the winger had scored during his time in north London.
He scored a similar goal in the Europa League earlier in his career.
Despite the star's rabona heroics against Arsenal, his time in north London came to an end at the end of the season as he joined Sevilla in a deal that involved Bryan Gil coming the other way.
He has made 16 appearances for the La Liga side so far this season, scoring four goals.
