Tottenham were beaten for the ninth straight league game to heap pressure on manager Rehanne Skinner.
Spurs, who have not won since October, lost 2-1 at Liverpool to leave them just two points above bottom-of-the-table Leicester.
Rosella Ayane had given Tottenham the lead in the first half but Emma Koivisto equalised five minutes later before Missy Bo Kearns put Liverpool 2-1 ahead before the break.
Spurs, who were also knocked out of the FA Cup by Reading two weeks ago, face a crucial home game with Leicester on Wednesday before taking on north London rivals Arsenal on March 25.
‘You have to be disappointed, otherwise you don’t care, do you? Clearly, we’re disappointed with the result,’ Skinner said.

‘You can see the commitment, the work ethic, there’s fight within every single player that’s coming on the pitch. That’s something that we have to hold on to.’
The Reds have now lifted themselves seven points clear of the relegation spot to leave Spurs locked in a battle for top flight survival with Leicester, Brighton and Reading.
Elsewhere, Manchester City went level on points with rivals United after a late goal from Khadija Shaw gave them a 2-1 victory over Brighton.
Elisabeth Terland had cancelled out Shaw’s earlier strike to make it 1-1 before half-time, but City’s top scorer netted the winner in the 89th minute to seal a crucial three points.
