Tottenham ‘respond to Harry Kane bid’ as Man Utd and Bayern sent same message

10 Tottenham stars 'up for sale' as Lloris to lead clear-out

Tottenham have reportedly decided their stance on selling Harry Kane this summer. Bayern Munich have shown the most serious interest so far, while Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also rumoured to be eyeing up England’s record goalscorer.

Kane will be 30 years old by the start of next season and he is yet to win a trophy at club or international level. The striker has one year remaining on his Spurs contract, but chairman Daniel Levy is believed to be against selling to a Premier League rival.

While some reports indicate that Bayern submitted an opening £60million offer on Tuesday, The Mirror claim that a formal bid is yet to be received. In any case, the north London club would deliver the same message to an interested party this summer – Kane is not for sale.

That will come as a major blow not only to Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel, who has reportedly green-lit the deal, but also Man Utd and PSG.

United have been linked with Kane since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge, and Erik ten Hag is believed to share his admiration. PSG, meanwhile, must find a replacement for Lionel Messi this summer, while Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are also linked with exits.

Reports indicate that PSG made enquiries about Kane and they were informed that he did not want to move abroad. The Tottenham star is currently second on the list of all-time top Premier League scorers, 47 behind Alan Shearer.

But he will likely have to wait another year before joining a different Premier League club, and Levy may fancy his chances of convincing Kane to commit his future to the Londoners in the meantime. The chairman’s cause would be helped if new boss Ange Postecoglou makes a good start in the dugout.

The former Celtic manager has been appointed as Antonio Conte’s permanent successor, and he will be tasked with leading Spurs back into Europe in 2023/24. Landing silverware is sure to be critically important too, given Kane’s situation.

Kane made his senior Tottenham breakthrough more than a decade ago and he has racked up 280 goals for the club since. The prolific forward notched 30 in the Premier League last season, trailing only Manchester City ace Erling Haaland.

The Sky Blues attempted to sign him back in 2021, but Levy once again put the brakes on his exit by asking for £200m.
