Former Juventus director Luciano Moggi has claimed that Fabio Paratici will struggle to integrate himself at Tottenham after a promising start to life as the club’s director of football. Paratici arrived in north London back in June and has since impressed plenty of onlookers with his shrewd dealings in the summer transfer window.
Spurs welcomed five new players to the club before last week’s deadline, with a relatively modest total of £60million being spent by the Premier League heavyweights since the end of last season.
Bryan Gil and Emerson Royal both joined the club on permanent deals, while Pape Matar Sarr also completed a £15.2m move from Metz.
However, the latter will spend the rest of the campaign on loan at the Ligue 1 club before making his way to Spurs next summer.
Paratici also managed to land Cristian Romero and Pierluigi Gollini on temporary deals from Atalanta to bolster Tottenham’s ranks for the season ahead.
Although the 49-year-old’s summer business has been largely well-received by Spurs fans, Moggi is not convinced that he will be a long-term hit in his new role.

The former Juventus chief, who was involved in the infamous Serie A match-fixing scandal back in 2006, has insisted that Paratici has ‘little life’ in London and will be unable to fully establish himself there.
However, Moggi went on to admit that Paratici’s early work at Spurs has been successful after their strong start to the new Premier League campaign.
“I think Paratici has little life there,” Moggi told Tuttomercatoweb when quizzed on the former.
“I believe he has no possibility of being fully integrated into the club. However, Tottenham are first in the standings, so obviously the work has a value.”
Although Paratici’s movements in the transfer market appear to have gone down well at Spurs, he is reportedly facing the wrath of the club’s playing squad at present.
They are said to be unhappy with Paratici’s tendency to sit in the dugout during matches, with the animated nature of the Italian’s protests doing little to endear himself to the group.
Former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton recently admitted that he was left baffled by the Spurs chief’s antics, insisting that his presence on the touchline is not at all necessary.
“I’ve never seen that before,” Hutton told Football Insider. “You don’t see Daniel Levy down there sitting next to the manager.

“I know the manager and the director of football have to have a good working relationship, but when it comes to game day and matters on the field it’s all about the manager and the players.
“I don’t think the director of football has to be anywhere near that. He’s done his job with the recruitment; he doesn’t have to be down there.
“If I was sitting there and the director of football was sat next to me, that would feel a little bit strange.”
