Tottenham outcast Tanguy Ndombele has no interest in signing for Premier League rivals Everton, according to reports. Ndombele is likely to leave Spurs in the near future after falling out of favour under Antonio Conte.

Spurs paid a club-record £57million fee to sign Ndombele in the summer of 2019.

However, his spell in north London has never taken off. The midfielder has failed to get regular game time under four different managers.

Ndombele was recently booed off as he was substituted in the club’s FA Cup victory over League One Morecambe.

Boss Antonio Conte urged the Frenchman to “change opinions” but he has failed to do so in the month since.

Spurs may look to cash in on the 25-year-old to help Conte bring in his own players. The Italian is desperate for reinforcements to begin his rebuild after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo in November.

Ndombele has been linked with several clubs in January. A switch to Paris Saint-Germain to reunite with Mauricio Pochettino, the man who brought him to Spurs, has been mooted.

Everton are also interested. However, according to the Evening Standard, Ndombele has no interest in joining the Toffees this month and has rejected a move to Goodison Park.

He still prefers a transfer to PSG and hopes that a deal can be resolved.

Missing out on Ndombele would be the latest setback in a farcical few months for Everton.

They had a busy start to the January transfer window under Rafa Benitez. Full-backs Nathan Patterson and Vitaliy Mykolenko were signed while fans’ favourite Lucas Digne was controversially sold to Aston Villa.

Benitez was sacked a few days later having overseen a dreadful run of form. Everton had won just one of their final 12 matches under the Spaniard.

The Goodison Park outfit are yet to appoint Benitez’s replacement and the hiring process turned bizarre on Wednesday when managerial hopeful Vitor Pereira effectively conducted a live job interview on Sky Sports News.

The former Porto boss told the broadcaster why he would be suitable for the job and made public how the recruitment process had been conducted.

“I had a few interviews – not just one. More than one interview with different people at the club,” Pereira, whose potential appointment has faced fan backlash, told Sky.

“We discussed everything. I discussed with different people in the club and on the board.

“I gave them my point of view about the club and what I think about the team, because they asked me to come, [Farhad] Moshiri and Bill Kenwright and other people in the club.”
