Tottenham loan flop climbs mountain after Spurs decide not to sign him

Tottenham Hotspur flop Arnaut Danjuma has climbed to the top of a mountain after being let go by the north London club.

Danjuma, 26, signed for Spurs on loan from Villarreal in January after they hijacked his move to Everton.

Yet the winger went on to have a torrid time in England as he was barely given any game time to prove his ability.

Spurs since the end of the season have reportedly rejected the opportunity to sign him on a permanent deal worth £27million. And the Dutchman has now apparently sought to clear his head by climbing to the very top of Mount Fuji, Japan.

Danjuma took to social media on Friday to share snaps of his recent expedition, which saw him climb the 3,776m volcano. He showed no signs of sorrow at his Spurs rejection, smiling despite the icy conditions.

The Dutchman, who spent two years at Bournemouth between 2019 and 2021, only played 12 games for Spurs in all competitions.

He managed just two goals in that time, scoring as a substitute against Preston North End and a home defeat to Bournemouth.

Danjuma’s solitary start came as a result of him failing to make an impression under all three of Spurs’ managers last season.

Yet reporter Paul Brown told GIVEMESPORT how Danjuma has no regrets about choosing Spurs over Everton despite his disastrous spell.

Brown said: "I think Danjuma has endured a bit of a nightmare really at Spurs. He had a move to Everton lined up, where he probably would have played every week.

"I doubt he regrets not doing that now because he got a shot at a club who were playing for much bigger trophies, but he's hardly really played for Spurs."
