Oliver Glasner has reportedly rejected a new contract at Eintracht Frankfurt amid speculation he could replace Antonio Conte at Tottenham. The Premier League club have apparently already made contact with the Austrian tactician as they seek to move on from Conte.
Wide-ranging reports suggest that Conte will be dismissed later this week. The Italian’s remarkable outburst in which he appeared to attack the Spurs board and the club’s players after Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Southampton is likely to have sealed his fate.
Fans’ favourite Ryan Mason could embark on his second stint as caretaker manager until the end of the season. Spurs have been linked with several new managers ahead of a possible summer appointment, with Frankfurt boss Glasner believed to be well-liked by the club’s hierarchy.
Come the summer, Glasner will have just 12 months remaining on his contract at Frankfurt. The 48-year-old has apparently rejected the club’s first formal offer of an extension.

According to Sky Germany, Frankfurt do not want to lose their highly-rated boss ‘free of charge’. But they could face a struggle getting Glasner to sign a new deal.
The report adds that Glasner wants to take more time to take a decision over his future and sees no rush in penning fresh terms. More discussions are supposedly expected to take place but the head coach would only likely extend for a maximum of two years.
Frankfurt’s recent form has been poor and the German club are hoping to avoid bigger clubs poaching their manager and key players in the summer. Striker Randal Kolo Muani has been linked with a £100million move to Manchester United and Chelsea.
Glasner, who led Frankfurt to a shock Europa League triumph last season, hit out at his defenders after Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at home to Union Berlin. It extended his side’s winless run to six matches.

“It’s not the first time, and we have to be honest,” Glasner fumed. “There is no point in always palavering. The fact is that we always lose our games in the same way.”
Spurs are expected to part ways with Conte when the 53-year-old returns from a trip to Italy at the end of the week. Conte alleged that the club’s owners and players had grown too comfortable with not competing for trophies.
Glasner is one of the names linked with the job. Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has also been linked with an emotional return.
