Spurs are looking to strengthen their defence under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo

Tomiyasu is capable of playing in both positions and would be a valuable addition for new boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

He played an euqal number of games in both positions but was more effective at full-back.

The 22-year-old is under contract until 2024, meaning Bologna are not under pressure to sell him.

The versatile 22-year-old Japan international can play at right back as well as centre back

The defender made 31 appearances and scored two goals last season, with the club finishing 12th in the Italian top flight.

He has also been capped 23 times for Japan and is part of their Olympic team for the Games in Tokyo this summer.

This means he would be late arriving for pre-season in north London, should Spurs be able to agree a deal with the Italians.
