Tottenham are looking to offload a number of their squad before Friday’s 11pm deadline but defender Eric Dier would prefer to see out his contract if possible and leave as a free agent next year.
Fulham are among the clubs to have considered the England international who has dropped down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou and following the arrival of Micky van der Ven.
Tottenham are hoping to offload a number of other squad players: One is left-back Sergio Reguilon, amid interest from Fulham, Manchester United – to a lesser degree – and Nottingham Forest.
Davinson Sanchez is another who has drawn interest from Forest, Fulham and Monaco.
Midfielder Giovani Lo Celso’s situation has attracted Napoli.

One surprise could be Paris Saint-Germain returning for midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
The French champions have asked about the 26-year-old at each of the last three transfer windows and are considering another attempt for the former France international.
Ndombele has had loan spells at Napoli and Lyon.
