Tottenham chief Daniel Levy was embarrassingly left red-faced after appearing to be blanked in the stands by the woman sitting next to him.
Spurs welcomed Premier League champions Manchester City to north London on Sunday as they kicked off their season.
Watching new manager Nuno Espirito Santo in competitive action for the first time, Tottenham chairman Levy looked on from the directors' box.
However, he will have been left a little red-faced after the cameras picked him up sharing a joke with the woman sitting next to him.
Levy let out a huge laugh as he spoke to her, but her face barely moved as she looked on straight faced.
To save the 58-year-old some of that embarrassment, it is understood that the woman is in fact his wife, Tracy Dixon, who regularly sits next to him at matches.
Ahead of the clash with City, Levy sent a message to fans thanking them for their support ahead of the new season under Nuno.

“Today we shall look to remember and to look forward," he told the club's official website.
"The pandemic brought many challenges, however, it also brought a greater appreciation of what we may have taken for granted and a realisation about just how resilient we can be when we work as a team and support each other.
“I want to thank each and every one of you for the part you have played and the support you have given to our Club. Everything we all do is about supporting the team that will take to the pitch today.
"There is so much excitement amongst the players about the atmosphere that will be generated by you all.
“Please join me in welcoming Fabio, Nuno and his coaching staff. Welcome back. Thank you all.
“COYS.”
