Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici reportedly stormed out of his seat in front of a packed stadium on Saturday when Marcus Rashford put Manchester United 3-0 up in north London. It turned out to be Nuno Espirito Santo’s final game in charge, and Express Sport understands that Antonio Conte is being lined up as his replacement.
Rashford’s calm finish turned out to be the final nail in the coffin for Nuno, with chairman Daniel Levy supposedly ‘furious’ with his side’s display.
Nuno’s subsequent sacking marked the end of a brief four-month stint in charge of Tottenham, losing half of his 10 Premier League games at the helm.
The Portuguese always seemed to be living on borrowed time once three league victories to kick off the campaign had faded from memory.
The idea that Paratici and Levy were at odds over his summer appointment will not have helped, as the latter supposedly believed a more attacking coach would be what Spurs require.

However, Paratici pressed on and despite starting the summer way down Spurs’ list of managerial targets, Nuno eventually got the nod.
Having overseen a run of three defeats in their past four games, Levy’s suspicions were proven right as fans failed to get onside with the 47-year-old’s brand of football.
The lack of results certainly did not help either, and Spurs’ managerial mistake is reportedly set to cost them £14million in severance pay.
So infuriated at recognising his own mistake, football.london claim that Paratici stormed out of his seat when United went three to the good and he did not return for the remainder of the match.

Eagle-eyed viewers from within the stadium may have spotted this as an early sign that Nuno’s days in north London were numbered.
And Monday’s sacking proved that to be the case, with their attention now turned towards appointing Antonio Conte as their new boss.
Still known for his defensive prowess, the Italian has also brought goals with him at virtually every club, and boasts a proven track record of drawing performances from big, physical strikers like Harry Kane.
That much could prove crucial given that the England captain has notched just one Premier League goal all season.
Although Nuno was the source of Paratici’s fury on Saturday, the transfer chief still had kind words for his summer choice after the announcement was made.
“I know how much Nuno and his coaching staff wanted to succeed. I regret that we have had to take this decision,” he said.
“Nuno is a true gentleman and will always be welcome here.
“We should like to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them well for the future.”
