Fabio Paratici has arrived in London for the first time since becoming Tottenham’s new sporting director and reports claim he will continue work on the appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo. The former Wolves boss has held extensive talks with Spurs over the vacant managerial position but the club are yet to make any final decision on the opening.
However, it’s understood that as things stand Nuno is the current frontrunner for the position and Spurs are now edging closer to an appointment.
Paratici is a fan of Nuno, who he wanted to appoint at Juventus last summer.
Nuno left Wolves at the end of last season after a tricky campaign having guided the club to the Europa League from the Championship.
He is of course proven in the Premier League and his availability means Spurs would not have to fork out a compensation fee of any kind.

According to Sky Sports, Paratici has now touched down in London to crack on with the appointment of a new manager.
The report claims that Spurs are now confident of completing a deal for Nuno with more talks planned this week.
Paratici has been on holiday back in Italy where he met with Paulo Fonseca before the Portuguese’s move to north London collapsed.
Tottenham instead opted to move for Gennaro Gattuso before pulling the plug on the deal following backlash from supporters.
Surprise reports emerged yesterday claiming that Nuno was set to take over at Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
However, those claims are believed to be wide of the mark.
Nuno came close to landing the Crystal Palace job before the move fell through two weeks ago.
He was also close to being appointed at Everton, who are now set to unveil Rafael Benitez as their new manager.
Tottenham’s desperate search for a new manager has lasted a staggering 71 days to date.
Jose Mourinho was sacked by Daniel Levy a matter of days before the Carabao Cup final and replaced by Ryan Mason.
The former Spurs interim boss is expected to remain part of the first-team coaching set-up next season.
Ledley King will also continue his role as first-team coach.
