Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants to resolve Antonio Conte’s future face-to-face and has delayed talks with the Italian until the Spurs head coach returns to north London. The 53-year-old boss is now expected to be dismissed before the Premier League returns on April 1 but even still, Levy and Co are keen to hand the situation professionally.
On Thursday, Bayern head coach Julian Nagelsmann discovered he was being sacked by reports within the German media without receiving any formal communication from the club.
It was also reported that Thomas Tuchel had agreed to replace him on a two-and-a-half-year contract with immediate effect ahead of Bayern’s crunch title clash with Borussia Dortmund.
Tottenham want to go down a different route and although it has already been reported that Spurs are prepared to sack Conte, The Independent say they are hanging fire until Levy can conduct the talks face-to-face.
It’s understood Spurs have a number of different avenues they could pursue with the sacking of Conte, whose contract contains the option to extend for 12 months if he achieves a top-four finish this season.

One is that Tottenham would have to pay Conte almost £4million if they were to immediately hand the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss his P45.
If Conte’s one-year extension was triggered, he would therefore be entitled to another £15m.
The Spurs hierarchy seemingly feel Conte’s tenure has reached the point of no return following his explosive rant after last weekend’s 3-3 draw at Southampton.
Ryan Mason, who could be set to take over the reins on an interim basis, has been taking training this week.

The former midfielder and fellow assistant manager Cristian Stellini also took charge of the 3-2 defeat to Ipswich Town on Thursday in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
Mason has experience taking charge of the team on a caretaker basis having previously replaced Jose Mourinho until the end of the 2020/21 season in April 2021.
Tottenham are seemingly yet to decide whether they will move to appoint another manager straight away or whether they will conduct a thorough managerial search.
A number of other candidates including Mason’s former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino are already in the frame.
Thomas Tuchel was believed to be another name under consideration before Bayern pounced to secure his services.
Other managers such as Roberto De Zerbi, Luis Enrique, and Thomas Frank are also believed to be held in high regard at Spurs.
Tottenham’s schedule means the board does have some additional time to resolve Conte’s future with Spurs not back in action until April 3 when they travel to Everton.
Spurs remain fourth and on track to finish inside the top-four but Newcastle and Liverpool remain hot in pursuit of Conte’s inconsistent side as we head into the final stretch of the season.
