Tottenham chief Daniel Levy ‘isolating himself’ amid five issues
Head coach Antonio Conte leaves Tottenham by mutual consent
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly ‘isolated himself’ amid a series of crises at the Premier League club. Managerless Spurs were rocked on Wednesday by the news that managing director of football Fabio Paratici’s 30-month ban from Italian football had been extended across the globe.
Paratici has been suspended in his homeland for various alleged malpractice by his former club Juventus. FIFA has now confirmed that the ban will be extended worldwide subject to an appeal, throwing Spurs’ search for Antonio Conte’s replacement into disarray.
It comes with Levy facing several major issues. Conte was sacked last week, leaving the club without a manager, while Spurs’ women’s team does not have a head coach either.
Supporters have been frustrated by reports of planned season ticket price hikes. There is also the impending problem of key player Harry Kane’s future, and whether the club’s record scorer may decide to leave this summer in pursuit of silverware.

Spurs are also seeking a sponsor for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium naming rights nearly five years after the 60,000-seater venue opened.
According to the Telegraph, one source allegedly claimed: “On top of all the problems that are obvious for everyone to see, staff morale levels are at an all-time low and Levy has isolated himself. It’s a mess.”
Spurs claim they were completely sidelined by FIFA before being made aware of Paratici’s ban. The Italian is responsible for the club’s footballing operation, meaning he is key to any managerial search.
“This committee deliberation has been taken with no advance notice to any of the parties involved. We are urgently seeking further clarification from Fifa as to the details of the extension and its variance from the FIGC [Italian Football Federation] sanction,” Spurs have said.

“We should like to make clear that when Fabio conducted the interview on club channels yesterday neither he nor the club had any indication of this decision being made by Fifa, based on the fact the FIGC sanction was taken on 20 January 2023 and remains subject to an Appeal on 19 April 2023.”
Spurs have reportedly lined up Julian Nagelsmann as their No 1 candidate to replace Conte. The German was brutally sacked by Bayern Munich a week ago and replaced by former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel.
Levy and Paratici apparently harbour doubts over reappointing fans’ favourite Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine remains one of the favourites to win back his old job but could find his former club preferring not to look back on the past.
